New West Grey Business Thriving

A new business in West Grey is thriving.

Evolve Builders Group makes portable school classrooms out of straw bales and other environmentally friendly products. They shipped their first products out of the plant Tuesday. Six pre-fab modules are going to northern California.

They're operating at the former Interforest plant outside Durham. Co-owner Ben Polley says it's a perfect location because they source their raw materials and labour locally.

"Our steel comes out of Mount Forest, our straw for the walls is typically locally sourced as well. A number of the skilled labourers that we use are based out of Neustadt and Durham and other local areas," says Polley.

Evolve Builders Group in West Grey currently employs 16 full time workers. Polley says they have more orders for their products in the works.
