An exhibit of "epic proportions" opens tomorrow at Grey Roots Museum and Archives in Owen Sound.
It's called DINOSAURS UNEARTHED, and features several life-sized, animatronic dinosaurs, authentic fossils, and showcases recent archeological discoveries.
DINOSAURS UNEARTHED will open to the public at 11am tomorrow morning. Visitors attending the opening will get to "Feed the T-Rex," go dinosaur bowling, make a dinosaur hat, and talk to a paleontologist.
Each of the life-like animatronic dinosaurs has been custom designed and handcrafted by a team of paleo-artists using the best available data from paleontologists.
DINOSAURS UNEARTHED will be on display until September 7.
Three life-like and life-sized animatronic dinosaurs, as well as a T-Rex head, stunning fossils and a Gasosaurus skeleton take center stage in this family fun exhibit.
Hands-on activities include the Designosaurus colour wheel and a kid’s dig area, offering amateur paleontologists a chance to make their own fossil discoveries.
Grey Roots educational programs based on the exhibit are booking now for the month of June. Students will try out the hands-on activities found in a new education kit from the Royal Ontario Museum, called Dino-Detectives. If time allows, students will even have the chance to design their own dinosaur. The program is two hours in length.
Regular admission applies. Grey Roots Members, including members from Bruce County Museum, Simcoe County Museum, Waterloo Region Museum and Huron County Museum receive free general admission.
