Letterkenny Problems' transition from web sensation to TV show is a step closer.
"Letterkenny" is a show created by Listowel's Jared Keeso has started production in Sudbury. The six-part, half-hour series is loosely based on Keeso's home town and stars him as Wayne, a country boy trying to protect his homegrown way of life on the farm.
The show will be an adaptation of the popular web series Letterkenny Problems, which takes a satirical look at life on the farm, hockey players and relations between country and city folk. The series has just under 10-million views on Youtube.
"Just with that accent, I always thought could be really funny if executed the right way." Keeso told CKNX News back in March, when the show was announced. "As Listowel folks, and as Canadians, we're really good at having a laugh at ourselves."
Many other actors who made appearances in Letterkenny Problems will be reprising their roles for the show, including co-star Nathan Dales.
It will be shooting on location in Sudbury for the next five weeks and will air on the Comedy Network and Bell's streaming service CraveTV.
