A St. Marys company has another vote of approval for its operation.
Green Arc Tire received a draft Environmental Compliance Approval permit for its eco-tire making facility.
The permit comes from the Ontario Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change. The final step includes an ECA permit finalizing the conditions in which Green Arc has agreed to operate.
“The draft permit confirms that Green Arc has met the highest standards as set out by the ministry,” says Mike DiCenzo, CEO of Green Arc Tire Manufacturing Inc. “We are delighted that our operation is moving forward, allowing us to create hundreds of new jobs in the town and region.”
Green Arc plans to hire 340 people at its James St. South facility in St. Marys with 40 of the positions reserved for former members of the Canadian Armed Forces. The hourly wage will be $16 to $26 an hour, with benefits, pensions and profit sharing.
There is no specific timeline on when the company will get final approval.
