Hanover Girl Places 2nd in National Poetry Contest

A Hanover girl who is visually impaired has placed near the top in a nation wide poetry contest.

Linda Cotter is in Grade two at Hanover Heights Community School.

Linda and her mother Kathy saw the poetry contest on line, sponsored by the C-N-I-B. Linda writes in braille and entered her poem. She came second in a contest with over two thousand entrants.

Linda's poem was dedicated to her white cane, which she calls 'Gumdrop'.

She was recently recognized for her success at a Bluewater District School Board meeting.

"I have a huge pride in my daughter I've seen her become such a little lady in the last little while, I'm a very proud mom," said Kathy Cotter.
