Threat Of Frozen Water Diminishes In Owen Sound

The City of Owen Sound says residents and businesses can now stop running a water tap to prevent frozen pipes.

City officials say the level of frost penetrating the ground has diminished, and should no longer threaten to re-freeze water services.

However, you should continue to monitor your water flow, and if you notice a sudden pressure increase, it could mean your water lines have thawed.

You should then call the city and staff will restore permanent service and remove temporary hoses.

If you were asked to run water, or supply neighbours with water, your billing will reflect average historical usage during this time period, and will not include the extra water used.

For residents that have been requested to boil their water, you are asked to continue to do so until further notice.
