Made In Grey Economic Strategy Approved

Grey County wants it known that it is "open for business."

County Council has approved a long term economic development plan it hopes will create a positive environment for business and investors.

It was developed by a steering committee of business leaders, elected officials and county staff.

Owen Sound Deputy Mayor and county Councillor Arlene Wright says, while it's an overall map for the future, local municipalities can move ahead with the plan according to their priorities.

The plan focuses on seven key areas for economic development in Grey County: · Becoming investment ready · Creating a business friendly environment · Ensuring key infrastructure is in place · Developing Grey’s workforce · Communicating and marketing Grey’s greatness · Tourism · Agriculture, farms and local food

"This is a plan put together by the county that can serve all of the municipalities and they'll all be a little different, they're all unique, but on the other hand if we all work together on this prosperity for Grey County is certainly in the future," says Arlene Wright.
