New "Shatter" Drug Seized By Stratford Police

Stratford Police have charged two men after seizing several different drugs as the result of an investigation by the city's street crime unit.

Officers seized about $1,500 worth of methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana, prescription medication, and a new controlled substance known as 'Shatter.'

Also seized were several cell phones, weigh scales and baggies used to package drugs for sale.

Two males in their 40’s face numerous charges including possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Police say 'Shatter' is a relatively new drug produced from the marijuana plant to make a very toxic and highly addictive product that sells on the streets for $100 per gram.

Use of this product is very dangerous and often leads to an overdose.

Police ask anyone who comes across this type of drug to contact the Stratford Police Service by calling 519-271-4143 or Crimestoppers  at 1-800-222-TIPS.
