Report: Stratford Sues American Company for $500-million

The City of Stratford is suing a Texas based guardrail company for $500-million .

ABC News is reporting that the class action suit alleges that the company, Trinity Industries, knowingly provided the city with guardrails that had dangerous design flaws. The American news agency obtained a copy of the complaint and it alleges that the company "misled its customers" by not disclosing "secret” modifications it had made to its product.

Stratford's complaint is the second of three class action lawsuits against Trinity surrounding the guardrail system, called ET-Plus.

Three provinces have suspended the use of the ET-Plus system: Quebec, Alberta ad Nova Scotia.

ABC reports that in the US five deaths and numerous injuries have been linked to the guardrail company.
