Listowel's Keeso Among Nominees For Canadian Screen Awards

Listowel's Jared Keeso is hoping to bring home some hardware at Sunday's Canadian Screen Awards.

The actor made famous for playing Don Cherry in his CBC biographical mini-series is up for Best Actor in a Drama at the ceremony that is a merger between the Gemini Awards and Genie Awards.

Keeso's performance as 'Grapes' in Keep Your Head Up, Kid: The Don Cherry Story won him a Gemini award.

This year's nomination comes for his performance in the English adaptation of 19-2, a police drama surrounding the fictional lives of Montreal police officers.

19-2 was also recognized with ten nominations heading into the early awards ceremony on Wednesday, coming up empty handed.

The best actor award will be given out Sunday, 19-2 is also up for best drama.
