Central Huron Mayor Jim Ginn made a presentation to Premier Kathleen Wynne and the ROMA Conference in Toronto Tuesday.
Ginn was urging Wynne and her government to use a rural lens when creating policies that impact rural Ontario.
Ginn pointed out that the impact of policies can differ significantly between rural and urban Ontario and sometimes the impact on rural communities is not considered.
Ginn says he was very encouraged before he even made his presentation because Wynne used the phrase "rural lens" several times in her opening address.
Ginn added when it was over he believed the message was received. The question remains what will be done about it.
