Kincardine Council Wants To Hear Hospital Plans

Kincardine council is asking the president and CEO of the South Bruce Grey Health Centre to attend a council meeting next month.

Paul Rosebush met with Kincardine and Huron-Kinloss councillors earlier this week to discuss the aging hospital and what the health centre board wants to see done.

"Some of the building is, must be, nearly 100 years old, and some 50 or 60 years old, and there are definite problems that need to be addressed...within a certain time frame or it might lead to some significant problems," says Kincardine Mayor Anne Eadie.

Eadie added the hospital has community support, and she and her council would like Rosebush to explain the plan for improvement.

In 2011, the province promised Kincardine funding for a new hospital, but the deal was cancelled after the provincial election.
