Huron Anti-Wind Groups Wants Council Support

A representative of Concerned Citizens of Huron County made three requests to county council at yesterday's meeting.

Anita Frayne was asking Huron County for support in their legal challenge to wind energy project in St. Columban and Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh.

Specifically she asked that the county intervene in the Divisional Court Appeal later this month and that request was withdrawn because of the timing of the hearing.

Frayne changed that to ask that the county intervene in any appeal to that Divisional Court decision.

She also asked the county to financially support any appeal and finally asked the county publicly support the appeal.

CAO Brenda Orchard explained it was not county policy to make a decision on a request on the day the request was made but any councillor was free to ask that the matter be put on the agenda for discussion at a later date.
