The London Majors beat the Guelph Royals 9-4 in Game 1 of their first round IBL playoff series on Friday.
Majors pitcher Elis Jimenez struck out nine in seven innings, and allowed only three runs on seven hits.
As well, Chris McQueen had two hits, two RBI and three runs. RJ Fuhr singled, doubled and had an RBI and run, while Byron Reichstein singled twice and drove in two.
Michael Ambrose also added to London's lead when he hammered a solo home run.
The two teams will play Game 2 on Saturday starting at 7:30pm.
