The person responsible for a bomb threat at St. Joseph's School on Tuesday has been identified as a 12-year-old.
Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to the Simcoe elementary school at about 8:30 a.m.
Following an extensive search of the school and its premises, the responding officers said no suspicious packages or items were found.
"The OPP takes all threats to public safety seriously and provides resources necessary to assess and respond to the threat. The safety of our communities' children and all members of the public is paramount," the OPP said in a release about the incident.
No charges have been laid following the investigation. No further details about the youth will be revealed by police under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
