Man charged in stabbing

London police say a London man is facing charges after a stabbing on the weekend.

Emergency crews were called to the area of Wharncliffe Road North and Oxford Street around 4:30 p.m. Sunday for a report of a stabbing.

"An adult male was located with an apparent stab wound. He was transported to hospital by paramedic services with life-threatening injuries," police said. "Through the course of the investigation, police were able to positively identify a suspect in relation to the stabbing."

Officers arrested a suspect in the area of Beaufort and Gunn Streets.

Erick Douglas Earl Hanson, 38, of London is charged with aggravated assault and failing to comply with an understaking.

The victim is still in hospital.
