The Ontario Network of Injured Workers Groups plans to kick off a 25-city tour with rallies on Saturday in at least four cities.
The biggest rally will be outside Queen's Park, but supporters will also rally in Windsor, London, and Thunder Bay.
The network celebrates some victories in the past year, including protecting the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board's appeals system and a landmark tribunal decision protecting many migrant workers from mistreatment.
However, the network said its work isn't done.
"In the last handful of years, the WSIB has handed over billions of dollars to wealthy employers," said President Willy Noiles. "We know where this money came from. It has been taken from injured workers after more than a decade of austerity that has driven injured workers into poverty."
The rally in Toronto has been an annual event for the past 40 years.
"Injured workers are no strangers to fighting back," continued Noiles. "We are here to celebrate that strength and remind Ontarians of how important the compensation system is. It must be strengthened so it is there for you when you need it."
The rally in Windsor starts at 11 a.m. at the corner of Tecumseh Road and Ouellette Avenue. At the same time, the rally starts in London's Victoria Park.
