Firefighters knock down garage fire, Saturday, May 25 (Image courtesy of the London Fire Department via X)The London Fire Department (LFD) responded to an early morning fire, just west of Fanshawe College.
Shortly after 5 a.m. on Saturday, firefighters were called to a Dobie Street address for reports of a detached garage on fire.
In a social media post, fire officials said the blaze was extinguished in half an hour.
As well as losing the contents of the garage, LFD said an above ground pool on the property was damaged. Damages are estimated at $75,000.
No injuries were reported.
Alan Smith will begin his new role with the municipality on July 20.
