Summer may be a month away, but summer-like conditions are going to settle into the London region on Tuesday.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for London and Middlesex County as the temperature is expected to soar to 31 C by the afternoon and feel closer to 40 C with the humidity.
The hot, humid conditions pose health risks for everyone, particularly seniors, young children, and those with chronic illness.
The national weather agency advises people to drink plenty of water - even when not feeling thirsty - wear light coloured, loose fitting clothes, and spend as much time in a cool place as possible.
"Hot and humid air can also bring deteriorating air quality and can result in the Air Quality Health Index approaching the high risk category," Environment Canada also warned.
Slightly cooler temperatures are expected Wednesday with showers and thunderstorms possible throughout the day. A return to season conditions is forecast for Friday when the daytime high will be 19 C.
