What's open, closed in London on Victoria Day

The Victoria Day long weekend, often considered the unofficial start of summer, has arrived.

Whether you plan on gardening, camping, visiting with friends, or just relaxing, there are a number of closures to keep in mind because of the statutory holiday.

The following is a list of what is open and closed in London on holiday Monday:

CLOSED:

  • Government offices (municipal, provincial, and federal)

  • Schools

  • Canada Post (no mail delivery)

  • Malls (including White Oaks Mall, Masonville Place, and Westmount Shopping Centre)

  • Banks

  • LCBO/Beer Stores outlets (The Beer Store at 1600 Dundas St. E., 414, Wharncliffe Rd. S. (drive-thru only), 1080 Adelaide St. N, will be open from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.)

  • Most grocery stores

  • Costco Wholesale

  • London Public Library branches

OPEN:

  • Select Shoppers Drug Mart and Rexall locations

  • Fanshawe Pioneer Village (Queen Victoria birthday festivities 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.)

  • Fanshawe Conservation Area (campsite availability call 1-866-668-2267 - fireworks are prohibited)

  • Labatt Retail Store on the corner of Richmond Street and Horton Street – 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • London Children’s Museum – 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • London’s 17 spray pads – 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

  • Movie theatres

  • City-run golf courses

  • Boler Mountain

  • Storybook Gardens

  • East Park noon to 7 p.m.

  • London Transit will be running on a Sunday schedule

The City of London will be offering free recreational activities on Monday at the North London Optimist Community Centre, East Lions Community Centre, Carling Heights Optimist Community Centre, South London Community Centre, Byron Community Centre, Canada Games Aquatic Centre, South London Community Pool, and Carling Arena. The activities will include swimming, public skating, Zumba, badminton, family open gym, science workshops, and arts and crafts.
