Provincial police say two people face charges after a drug bust in St. Thomas.
The Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police and the St. Thomas Police Service worked together to search a home in St. Thomas on Wednesday, April 10. Police say they found a marijuana growing operation and quantities of a few different types of drugs.
According to police, they seized more than $225,000 worth of cocaine, methamphetamine, hydromorphone, methylphenidate, and cannabis. Police also scales, cellular phones, an imitation firearm, and a quantity of Canadian currency.
A 33-year-old from St. Thomas is charged with:
Possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling
Cultivating more than four plants at one time in dwelling house
Possession of a prohibited device contrary to prohibition order
Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
Laundering proceeds of crime
Possession of imitation weapon for dangerous purpose
Possession for the purpose of trafficking (Methamphetamine)
Possession for the purpose of trafficking (Hydromorphone)
Possession for the purpose of trafficking (Methylphenidate)
Possession for the purpose of trafficking (Cocaine)
A 26-year-old from St. Thomas is charged with:
Possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling
Cultivating more than four plants at one time in dwelling house
Possession for the purpose of trafficking (Methamphetamine)
Possession for the purpose of trafficking (Hydromorphone)
Possession for the purpose of trafficking (Methylphenidate)
Both accused appeared in court for bail hearings. The 33-year-old was remanded into custody while the 26-year-old was released with a future court date.
