New waterslides part of $5M East Park upgrades

A summertime family fun staple in London is getting $5 million worth of upgrades and enhancements.

East Park London, an outdoor family entertainment venue on Hamilton Road, has announced the major investment ahead of the 2024 season. As part of the revamp, the iconic bullet and caterpillar waterslides, acquired from Wally World in 2003, have undergone a facelift that includes new colours and a shiny smooth surface.

Two of the original mat slides that have been at the park since 1982 are being removed to make way for a new five-slide tower. Park officials promise the new slide will not only "cater to thrill enthusiasts" but provide more family fun options. The five-slide tower will include a toilet bowl slide, three front-facing mat racers and a twisty slide.

Splash pad features are also to be updated as part of the park enhancement project.

“We are thrilled to unveil these thrilling changes to our waterpark,” said Alon Shatil, general manager of East Park London. “While we pay tribute to the historic slides that have been part of our legacy, we eagerly welcome these innovative additions. Our goal is to create cherished moments and new memories for families, friends, and visitors for years to come.”

The upgrades mark the largest ever investment in the park over its six-decade history.

It's anticipated East Park's expanded water features will open the first week of June.

Situated on more than 100-acres of land, the park also offers an 18-hole golf course, mini-golf, driving range, go karts, batting cages, picnic grounds, and indoor rock climbing, bumper cars, a jungle gym, and arcade.
