Pedestrian seriously hurt in southeast London collision

A pedestrian has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a collision in southeast London.

Emergency crews were called to the crash in the area of Commissioners Road East and Highbury Avenue around 6:20 a.m. on Thursday.

London police have released few details other than to state that a pedestrian was found with serious injuries. That individual was taken to hospital for treatment.

Commissioners between Deveron Crescent and Meadowlily Road South were closed until roughly 8:30 a.m. when the westbound lanes were reopened. Eastbound traffic was allowed back along the stretch just after 10 a.m.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.

Anyone who was in the area of Commissioners and Highbury between 6 a.m. and 6:25 a.m. who has dash-cam or residential or business video surveillance are asked to call police at 519-661-5670.
