The vehicle involved in a hit-and-run that left a pedestrian seriously hurt in east London earlier this week will have noticeable front-end damage.
London police released a description of the suspect vehicle on Friday, four days after a pedestrian was hit at the intersection of Highbury Avenue North and Florence Street. The pedestrian, an adult man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the vehicle involved did not stop after striking the man shortly after 3 a.m. on Monday.
Investigators probing the incident have since determined the suspect vehicle is a dark coloured sedan with damage to the front grill, hood, or windshield. It was last seen heading west on Huron Street from Highbury Avenue North.
Police publicly released video surveillance of the vehicle in hopes the public will be able to help in identifying the suspect. The 42 second video shows the vehicle operating with only daytime running lights on after the collision.
Investigators are also asking anyone who may have been in the area of Highbury between Florence and Huron streets and Huron Street west of Highbury between 3:10 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. the morning of the collision who has dash-cam or surveillance video to call them at 519- 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
