A man and woman have been charged in a drug trafficking investigation southeast of Tillsonburg that turned up a quantity of cocaine, dilaudid, and hydromorphone.
The OPP Norfolk/Haldimand community street crime unit stopped a vehicle on Pinegrove Road in Charlotteville as part of an ongoing investigation shortly after 10 p.m. on Tuesday.
The driver and a passenger were arrested. A search of the vehicle turned up an undisclosed amount of suspected cocaine and a prohibited weapon.
Police then searched a home on Norfolk County Road 21 in Wyecombe, seizing an unspecified amount of suspected Dilaudid, hydromorphone, and drug paraphernalia. Some cash was also found in the home.
A 49-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman, both from Norfolk County have been charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and unauthorized possession of a weapon. The man is additionally charged with possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and disobeying a court order.
The woman also faces a charge of driving a vehicle with cannabis readily available.
