London police seized a loaded handgun and a quantity of crystal methamphetamine during the arrest of a man wanted on outstanding warrants.
Members of the police investigative response unit took the man into custody as he got out of a vehicle on Highview Avenue West, south of Commissioners Road West on Saturday. A loaded 9mm handgun and 4.3 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine was seized during the search that followed.
A 23-year-old London man is charged with half a dozen offences including unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm, occupying a vehicle with a firearm, careless storage of a firearm, possession of a prohibited device, possession of drugs, and failure to comply with release order.
The man is scheduled to reappear in court in relation to the charges on Tuesday.
