Provincial police are investigating the discovery of two bodies inside a rural home southeast of St. Thomas.
The grim find was made at a home on Roberts Line east of Quaker Road south of Sparta shortly after 8 a.m. on Wednesday.
Few details have been released, but police believe this is an isolated incident - meaning there is no risk to public safety. CTV London has cited multiple sources as saying the deceased individuals are a man and woman in their 30s, killed in an apparent murder-suicide.
"The death investigation is ongoing and further updates will be provided as they become available," Elgin OPP said in a statement issued Thursday morning.
Roberts between Quaker and Chestnut Grove Road remained closed on Thursday with investigators still at the home. Drivers were asked to use alternative routes until further notice.
