City holding job fair to fill various summer positions

If you've dreamed of being a lifeguard or a camp counsellor, now is your chance.

The City of London will be holding a job fair at the Carling Heights Optimist Community Centre from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday to fill hundreds of summer positions. The seasonal roles will staff the city's various community centres, pools, Storybook Gardens, and golf courses.

The job fair is being broken down into two areas - positions that are being actively recruited for and information sharing about upcoming job opportunities.

Positions the city is actively hiring for include aquatics instructors, lifeguards and attendants, building attendants and facility coordinators, community connectors, day camp counsellors, event attendants, as well as golf course and Storybook Gardens staff.

Jobs the city will be looking to fill in the near future include adult/older adult recreation program instructor, cashier, child/youth recreation program instructor, and Storybook Gardens facility coordinator.

Detailed descriptions of all of the positions being offered can be found at london.ca/jobfair.

"Join us in building a better city for all. As a part of our team, you’ll have opportunities to branch out, stretch your skills, develop yourself and create a long-term career," the city said in a statement.

Londoners interested in applying for any of the available summer positions are encouraged to create a profile and upload their resume to careers.london.ca ahead of Tuesday's job fair. It is also recommended that jobseekers heading to the job fair have an idea of their availability and a list of potential locations where they would like to work.
