Charges have been laid against a 40-year-old St. Thomas resident after a sexual assault in the city.
St. Thomas police were called by staff at a residence downtown who reported "an incident of concern" on Monday.
Investigators determined a person had been held against their will and sexually assaulted.
A 40-year-old was arrested. That individual is charged with one count each of sexual assault and forcible confinement.
The accused remains in police custody awaiting a court appearance, police said.
