Southwest London intersection reopened after signal work

A busy intersection in southwest London is back open following a seven hour closure overnight.

Dingman Drive at Wellington Road was shut down to all vehicular traffic between 11 p.m. Wednesday and 6 a.m. on Thursday. The temporary closure was to allow crews to complete traffic signal work.

The work was part of the Dingman Drive Improvements Project that has been underway since the summer. The city is widening Dingman from Wellington Road South to Highway 401 from a two-lane rural cross-section to a four-lane urban cross-section. Other enhancements to the area include asphalt multi-use pathways, landscaping, street lighting, and repairs and replacements of underground infrastructure.

As a result of the ongoing work, Dingman has had reduced lanes since the end of July. The city anticipates the bulk of the work will be completed next month.
