A snowy start to the month of November for people west of London.
Lake effect snow moved in overnight and is expected to continue Wednesday morning.
Environment Canada has issued its first winter travel advisory of the season for London-Middlesex, eastern Lambton County, and southern Huron County. This will also be the first accumulating lake effect snow event of the season for most areas.
As much as 15 centimetres of snow could fall by late morning under the most persistent snow bands, the national weather agency warned. However, the snow should remain primarily west of London.
For drivers, the stretch of Highway 402 between Watford and north of Strathroy and Highway 21 between Port Elgin and Kettle Point could be particularly messy. Drivers are advised to expect hazardous driving conditions with visibility reduced at times in the heavy snow.
"If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop," Environment Canada said in its advisory.
The snow should taper off by the afternoon.
