Assault leads to charges

London police say charges have been laid after a man was assaulted and threatened by a man with a knife.

Officers were called to the area of Dundas Street and Adelaide Street orth around 9:20 a.m. Tuesday. According to police, a man was trying to leave his home when he got into a verbal altercation with a man who was blocking his doorway.

"The suspect brandished a knife and threatened the male with it," police said. "When the man attempted to leave the area, the suspect followed him, resulting in the man calling 9-1-1."

Police were given a description of the suspect, who had run from the area. A suspect was arrested shortly after, and police say a search of him turned up a knife.

A 40-year-old London man is now charged with assault with a weapon and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.
