Senior dies in crash southwest of London

Middlesex County provincial police are investigating after a senior passed away in a crash southwest of London Wednesday morning.

According to investigators, at around 11:19 a.m., emergency crews responded to a serious, single-vehicle crash on Woodhull Road, just north of Littlewood Drive in Middlesex Centre.

First responders arrived and located the lone occupant of the vehicle involved. The individual was taken to a trauma centre and pronounced deceased after their arrival at the hospital.

Police are identifying the driver as a 73-year-old from London. No other details about their identity are being provided out of respect for the family’s privacy, OPP said.

This is the second, fatal, single-vehicle crash southwest of the city this week. On Monday, Middlesex OPP responded to a commercial vehicle rollover approximately three kilometres northeast on Decker Driver near Westdel Bourne. The driver was pronounced dead on scene.

Members of the West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team continue to investigate the collision.

Woodhull Road between Littlewood Drive and Ranger Drive has been closed while the investigation continues. It is expected to remain shutdown into early Wednesday evening.
