Three days after a collision that left a pedestrian dead in east London, police have announced there was a second vehicle involved that took off from the scene.
The pedestrian was hit in the area of Clarke Road and Dundas Street around 5:50 a.m. on Tuesday. That individual, whose name and age have not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police previously stated that a vehicle involved in the collision remained at the scene. However, on Friday it was announced that investigators had determined a second vehicle was involved and that it took off from the scene following the incident.
Investigators believe the outstanding vehicle to be an older model silver or grey Dodge Caravan that will have damage to the front end and a line of black trim across the sides.
The revelation about the second vehicle comes a day after police made an appeal for video surveillance footage. Police have asked anyone with dash-cam, residential or business surveillance video from the areas of Clarke Road and Oxford Street, Clarke Road and Dundas Street and Dundas and First streets, taken between 5:40 a.m. to 6:10 a.m. the day of the crash to come forward.
