A 19-year-old man has been charged with dangerous driving in a weekend crash in northwest London that left three people hurt.
Emergency crews were called to the single-vehicle crash in the area of Sarnia Road and Leyton Crescent around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday. London police determined a vehicle hit a steel reinforced cement retaining wall and came to rest approximately 25 metres away.
The driver had to be cut from the wreckage by firefighters. That individual and the front seat passenger were taken to hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries. A passenger in the rear seat suffered minor injuries, police said.
A witness told investigators the vehicle had been travelling at a high rate of speed, swerving between lanes of traffic prior to the collision.
Damage to the vehicle and retaining wall is estimated at $25,000.
A London man has since been charged with one count of dangerous driving causing bodily harm. He is scheduled to appear in court on October 3.
