Provincial police were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) Program in Adelaide Metcalfe when they discovered a large quantity of drugs in a person's vehicle.
On Wednesday, just before 4:30 p.m., OPP members from Middlesex County were at Kerwood Road and Highway 402 when they pulled over a 68-year-old Sarnia resident during the RIDE program.
During the traffic stop, police said they found more than 30 grams of dried marijuana in the vehicle.
The suspect faces a number of drug charges including possession of drugs for the purpose of distributing, and driving a vehicle with cannabis readily available.
According to the OPP, the driver also failed to provide documentation during the ride check, prompting charges of failing to surrender a licence and failing to provide an insurance card.
The person has already been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in court on November 3.
