A man and woman are facing multiple charges after a search of a London home turned up over half a million dollars worth of drugs and several weapons.
Officers with the London police guns and gangs section, emergency response unit, and canine unit searched a home on Hamilton Road on Wednesday. Inside they seized a 357 calibre revolver, 48 rounds of 357 calibre ammunition, a taser, a knife, brass knuckles, $541,254 worth of drugs and a large quantity of cash.
Among the drugs seized was 1314 grams of suspected fentanyl, 437 grams of suspected carfentanil, 648 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, 12,415 dilaudid tablets, 309 hydromorphone tablets, 72 oxycodone tablets, and 19 grams of suspected cocaine.
A 45-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman, both from London, are jointly charged with ten offences including five counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, and one count each of unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition, careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device, or ammunition, and possession of a prohibited device or ammunition.
The man is additionally charged with possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order and possession of a prohibited device or ammunition.
Both of the accused were scheduled to appear in court in relation to the charges on Thursday.
