Police dog helps nab pair accused of trespassing

London police arrested two men after officers were informed about a suspicious vehicle in the city’s east end early Monday morning.

At around 2:45 a.m., a citizen called police to report the suspect-looking vehicle in the area of Langmuir Avenue and Hale Street.

Officers arrived a short time later, along with the London Police Service Canine Unit and the vehicle was located, along with a woman in the passenger seat.

Through an investigation, police learned the occupants of the vehicle had gone inside a nearby residence. Their descriptions were provided to officers and police proceeded to the property to speak with the homeowner.

During that conversation, police watched two men take off through the back door of the home. A police canine assisted officers in locating the two suspects close by.

Police learned one of the suspects had a warrant out for his arrest.

As a result, the pair, aged 24 and 28, face charges of resisting arrest and trespassing at night. The 24-year-old is additionally accused of public mischief to divert suspicion from themselves, or causing another to be suspected.

Both of the accused appeared in a London courtroom on Monday.
