A London man is facing over a dozen charges after a report about a suspicious vehicle netted police a loaded gun and over $7,000 worth of drugs.
London police were called about a vehicle stopped in the middle of the road in the area of Veterans Memorial Parkway and Trafalgar Street in the east-end of the city around 4:45 a.m. last Thursday. Officers arrived on scene to find the driver asleep behind the wheel of the running vehicle.
The man was arrested and no injuries were reported.
A search of the vehicle by police turned up a quantity of drugs and a loaded firearm.
A search warrant was then obtained for a home in the city where police seized 55.5 grams of cocaine, 14.6 grams of crack cocaine, 19 grams of psilocybin, and two oxycodone tablets. The estimated value of the drugs found is $7,030, police said.
A 28-year-old London man has been charged with 13 offences including impaired driving, resisting arrest, driving while under suspension, careless storage of a firearm, tampering with the serial number of a firearm, and possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.
The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
