World Championships gold continues to elude Damian Warner.
Earlier this year, Warner injured his hip during a hurdling event causing him to take a break in his training to recover.
It didn't seem to hamper him at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary. On Saturday, the London native finished second in the decathlon coming in just 105 points behind fellow Canadian Pierce LePage.
Warner came in first in the 110metre hurdle and 100metre events, third in the long jump, fifth in the high jump, sixth in the javelin and 400 metre events, seventh in the discus, pole vault, and 1,500 metre events, and tenth in the shot put.
The 33-year-old finished with a season-best 8804 points.
Warner, the reigning Olympic champion, has finished first place at every other major competition during his career, this includes the World Indoor Championships, Commonwealth Games, Pan American Games, and the Olympic Games.
LePage, 27, is the first Canadian to win the men's world decathlon title.
