St. Thomas police seize gun, more than $22K of drugs

Two St. Thomas men face a slew of charges following their arrest in the city's west end.

According to police, the two men were arrested on Tuesday due to outstanding warrants. During the arrest, police determined that a vehicle in the suspects' possession contained evidence of possible drug trafficking, so the vehicle was towed to police headquarters.

After being granted a search warrant on Thursday, police searched the vehicle and found a gun and drugs worth an estimated $22,524.

The seizure included:

• 32 caliber Beretta Tom Cat firearm (prohibited)

• 4x 32 caliber ammunition

• 91x 9mm ammunition

• Functioning digital weight scales

• Ziploc baggies

• 117.2g of crystal methamphetamine

• 4 suspected fentanyl tablets

• 18.5g of fentanyl

• 18 tablets of 9mg hydromorphone

• 1 tablet of 12mg hydromorphone

• 1 tablet of 8mg hydromorphone

• 50 tablets of 5mg oxycocet

• 0.3g of crack cocaine

• $3,995 Canadian currency

The men, both 37-years-old, face multiple drug trafficking and weapons charges.
