OPP probe gunfire damage located southwest of London

Provincial police are investigating after they were notified about a vehicle that sustained firearm damage early Wednesday morning. 

At around 6:47 a.m., Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a mischief at a home on Fingal Line in Southwold Township. 

When police arrived, officers learned a pickup truck on the property had been damaged by several gunshots. Investigators determined that at around 1 a.m. the same morning, unknown individual(s) attended the residence and shot at the unoccupied vehicle multiple times, police said. 

No injuries have been reported. 

Elgin OPP continue to investigate the incident. Police do not believe there is any threat to public safety at this time.
