London Police say a 19-year-old has been charged after a suspect was seen driving a stolen car.

On Thursday around 4:30 p.m., an off-duty London Police officer was in the park at Stronach Recreation Centre when he saw people acting suspiciously near a truck in the parking lot.

The officer believed the truck may have been stolen and after checking the license plate, confirmed that the vehicle was taken in Barrie on Wednesday.

When police arrived, a man ran off.

He was eventually located with the assistance of the Canine Unit.

A 19-year-old from London is charged with possession of property obtained by crime; and resist arrest.

The accused is expected to appear in London court on Friday in relation to the charges.
