VIDEO: Suspect seen ripping Pride flags off Norwich residence

Provincial police hope the public can help them identify a suspect accused of tearing Pride flags off a Norwich residence earlier this week.

According to Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police, the incident happened at around 4:30 a.m. Monday at an address on Stover Street.

In the surveillance footage that captured the incident, an individual wearing a full face helmet was seen tugging at least three flags from the property and running off with them.

OPP media spokesperson Cst. Patti Cote told LondonNewsToday.ca that several of the flags stolen were progress Pride flags.

This is the second incident of a Pride flag being taken from a Stover Street address this summer. In June, OPP reported an incident that allegedly saw two people removing a Pride flag from the home, damaging the frame it was attached to, and fleeing in a blue pickup truck.

Anyone with information about the stolen flags, or the individual seen in the video is asked to call OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Anonymous tips can also be made to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), or at www.oxfordcrimestoppers.com.
