Four people hurt in serious crash near St. Thomas

Two transport trucks were involved in a multi-vehicle crash just west of St. Thomas that left four people injured Thursday.

Just after 4:30 p.m., Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers, along with members of Medavie Elgin St. Thomas Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and Southwold Fire Department were called to the scene of the multi-vehicle crash on Talbot Line (Highway 3) in Southwold Township.

According to police, two transport trucks, an SUV, and a sedan collided.

Four people, two from the SUV and two from the sedan, were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Talbot Line was closed between Lyle Line and John Wise Line for roughly ten hours. It reopened around 3 a.m. on Friday.
