One dead, another hurt in weekend crash near Parkhill

A single-vehicle crash north of Parkhill claimed the life of one person and injured another.

Emergency crews were called to the collision in the area of McGillivray Drive and Grand Bend Line in North Middlesex just before 9 p.m. on Saturday.

"Early investigation revealed the vehicle left the roadway and rolled," Middlesex OPP said on Tuesday.

A passenger in the vehicle was airlifted to hospital where they were pronounced dead. That individual's name is being withheld until next-of-kin can be notified, police said.

The driver of the vehicle suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The OPP traffic incident management and enforcement team closed the roadway for several hours while they investigated the cause of the crash.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.

Anyone with information about the collision is asked to call police at 1-888-310-1122.
