Transport truck on highway (Image courtesy of Can Stock)A 60-year-old Ridgeway man was charged with driving a transport truck the wrong way on Hwy. 402 just outside London.
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to the 402 at 1:43 Wednesday morning. Police say they got several calls about a transport truck that entered the highway at Longwoods Road and travelled eastbound in the westbound lanes.
Officers closed the highway at Wonderland Road and stopped the vehicle.
No collisions were reported.
Alan Smith will begin his new role with the municipality on July 20.
