A day after numerous downtown business owners arrived to work to find their windows had been smashed, charges have been laid against a 28-year-old man.
London police were called by security staff at a business on Talbot Street near Dundas Street about a man throwing rocks at the windows of the building around 2:50 a.m. on Monday. Officers arrived to find a number of other businesses had their windows damaged and broken.
Using video surveillance, police located a suspect on Carling Street. The man was allegedly holding a rock when he was found, police said. After a brief struggle with an officer the man was arrested.
A 28-year-old London man is charged with three counts of mischief under $5,000 and one count each of mischief over $5,000 and resisting arrest. The accused is scheduled to reappear in court on August 3.
