Police are investigating after a London man arrived at one of the city’s emergency departments Tuesday morning with a gunshot wound.
London police say they were called at around 8:20 a.m. relating to a weapons incident after an individual attended a hospital with non-life threatening injury from a firearm.
Through an investigation, officers learned that the reported shooting may have occurred in the area of Hamilton Road and Rectory street earlier the same morning.
“The area was searched for physical evidence in relation to a shooting, and police are no longer on scene,” a statement from London police read.
The victim has since been released from the hospital and the investigation has been assigned to the Major Crime Section.
No other information has been made available as police say the probe is in its early stages.
Investigators are asking for potential witnesses of the incident to contact them at 519-661-5670, or London Middlesex Crime Stoppers.
