A London man is facing impaired driving charges after crashing into a police cruiser.
London police were notified about a man who was alleged to be drunk in the area of Florence Street and Rectory Street around 11:20 p.m. on Tuesday. When officers arrived they were told the man had taken off from the area in a vehicle.
A description of both the vehicle and driver was provided to police. Using that information, officers located the suspect vehicle a short distance away. However, when police tried to stop the vehicle, the driver drove into a marked police cruiser before coming to a halt.
No one was hurt and the driver was arrested without further incident, police said.
A 31-year-old man has been charged with impaired driving and impaired exceeding blood alcohol concentration. He is scheduled to appear in court on August 3.
